Claremont, CA | Jan 1, 2025 – QuantumShield Technologies is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Tim Ellis as Technical & Strategic Advisor, reinforcing QuantumShield’s mission to accelerate the development and commercialization of safe, high-performance sodium-ion battery solutions.
Dr. Ellis brings an exceptional background as a renowned metallurgist, industry leader, and technology innovator, with over three decades of experience spanning battery research, advanced materials, and industrial strategy. Holding a Ph.D. in Metallurgy from Iowa State University, along with degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and Chemistry, Dr. Ellis has contributed to significant breakthroughs in energy storage and battery recycling technologies.
Dr. Ellis’s distinguished career includes leadership roles such as:
President of R&D at RSR Technologies, the research arm of Eco-Bat Technologies, where he pioneered innovations in lead-acid battery systems and spearheaded the development of novel recycling technologies.
President of Transformation & CTO at Eco-Bat Technologies, leading enterprise-wide strategy for the world’s largest battery recycler.
Technical Director of the American Battery Research Group (ABRG), driving collaborative research on battery materials with U.S. Department of Energy laboratories.
Advisor to industry organizations such as Battery Council International (BCI) and Gridtential Energy.
At QuantumShield, Dr. Ellis will provide critical guidance on technical development, strategic partnerships, market positioning, and scaling strategies. His expertise will be instrumental in ensuring QuantumShield’s sodium-ion technologies achieve global competitiveness while meeting rigorous safety, performance, and sustainability standards.
