QuantumShield Welcomes Dr. Juchen Guo as Chief Innovation Advisor

Claremont, CA | Nov 1, 2024 – QuantumShield Technologies is proud to announce that Dr. Juchen Guo, a distinguished leader in battery materials research and innovation, has joined the company as Chief Innovation Advisor.
Dr. Guo is a Professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and Chair of the Materials Science and Engineering Program at the University of California, Riverside (UCR), where he also serves as Co-Director of the Winston Chung Global Energy Center.
With over 15 years of experience in rechargeable battery technologies, Dr. Guo is internationally recognized for his pioneering work on electrode-electrolyte interfaces and electrolyte design for advanced chemistries including lithium-ion, sodium-ion, lithium-sulfur, and multivalent-ion batteries.
Dr. Guo holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Zhejiang University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. He completed postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland under Prof. Chunsheng Wang and at Cornell University under Prof. Lynden Archer before joining UCR in 2012. Dr. Guo’s outstanding contributions have been recognized by the 2014 Hellman Fellowship and the prestigious 2018 National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award.
As Chief Innovation Advisor at QuantumShield, Dr. Guo will provide strategic leadership on sodium-ion battery chemistry, advanced materials, and manufacturing processes, helping guide QuantumShield’s development of safe, high-performance, and sustainable sodium-ion energy storage solutions.
